White Oak adds three senior roles to aviation finance arm

Three professionals with decades of experience have joined the firm from Aergen Aviation Finance.

White Oak Global Advisors has hired three senior team members to bolster its aviation leasing business.

Bob Genise, Asa Watts and Greg Byrnes will join White Oak Aviation at its offices in Bellevue, Washington and in Ireland.

Genise has 35 years’ experience in aviation finance. He co-founded Boullioun Aviation Services in 1986 and served as president and CEO from 1995 until 2005. He was also a board member of Singapore Aircraft Leasing and a CEO of DAE Capital and co-founder of Aergen Aviation Finance.

Watts and Byrnes both join from Aergen Aviation Finance, which provides aircraft leasing and parts management. Watts was director of pricing, asset and lease management at Aergen while Byrnes was chief financial officer.

Prior to joining Aergen, Watts spent a decade as vice-president of portfolio management at DAE Capital and as a lease manager at Boullioun. Byrnes spent five years as head of finance at Avolon Aerospace and spent a decade with BDO Chartered Accountants.

White Oak CEO Andre Hakkak said the hires form part of the firm’s strategic expansion into the aircraft leasing market which has a growing demand for bespoke aviation finance products.
